You own everything

Cesto is fully self-custodial. When you invest in a basket, the underlying assets go directly into your wallet. Not into an escrow. Not into a smart contract vault. Your wallet. This means:
  • No custody risk. Cesto never holds your funds. We can’t access, freeze, or move your assets.
  • No counterparty risk. You’re not trusting a third party with your money.
  • No lock-ups. Your assets are always yours. Exit any position, any time.

How transactions work

Every action on Cesto requires your explicit approval:
  1. You choose to invest or rebalance
  2. Cesto prepares the transaction
  3. You review the details in your wallet
  4. You sign and approve
Nothing happens without your signature. There’s no pre-authorized access, no spending permissions that persist after a transaction. Each action is a standalone approval.

What Cesto can’t do

To be clear about the boundaries:
  • We can’t access your wallet or private keys
  • We can’t freeze or seize your assets
  • We can’t reverse a transaction once confirmed
  • We can’t recover a lost seed phrase
Self-custody means you’re in full control — which also means the security of your wallet is your responsibility.

Best practices

Protect your seed phrase

Never share it with anyone. Cesto will never ask for it. No legitimate service will.

Verify the URL

Always make sure you’re on app.cesto.co before connecting your wallet.

Review before signing

Check transaction details in your wallet before approving. Confirm amounts, assets, and destinations.

Use a hardware wallet

For larger positions, a hardware wallet adds an extra layer of security.
